BUTTLER - A Washbasin Designed For Everyone

At RESTA 2026, visitors will discover a patent-pending washbasin concept that rethinks water delivery and accessibility in sanitary spaces for public and commercial buildings.

The solution replaces the traditional rear-mounted faucet with a water outlet integrated into the front edge of the basin, closest to the user. This design significantly reduces splashing, improving both comfort and hygiene. By introducing the water from the front, the drain can be repositioned closer to the wall, creating increased free movement space beneath the basin. The installation is, in this way, effectively inverted compared to conventional washbasins.

Because of this improved accessibility, the same washbasin can be comfortably used by children, adults and wheelchair users without the need for multiple installation levels. This reduces both material use and the need for duplicate installations, contributing to a socially sustainable solution.

Child and adult can use the same washbasin at standard installation height.

The traditional faucet is eliminated. A concealed connection beneath the basin supplies water to the front outlet, while mixing and valve control are placed on the wall beneath the washbasin. The system incorporates multiple sensors for motion, temperature and flow, monitored by integrated logic designed to respond rapidly in case of scalding risk or power failure. The system can also be connected to a facility management system for monitoring and control.

Developed in accordance with European washbasin standards, this solution is particularly suited for pre-schools, hospitals, malls and other high-traffic environments where hygiene, accessibility and long-term functionality are essential.
